Ian is the founder and Managing Director of Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop. Ian’s passion for cycling and cycle racing began as a 15-year-old taking part in the Guernsey Velo Club races.
Paul (known as Dudley) joined Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop in the summer of 1996. This followed his arrival into the sport of mountain biking just two years earlier. His competitive spirit saw him win his first ever local mountain bike race in November 1995 and become a fierce contender in the local scene. He still competes at the highest level locally.
James’ dedication and competitive nature has lead him to much success locally, nationally and internationally in Cross Country (XC) mountain biking. He has competed at the last 5 Natwest Island Games gaining 12 medals in the process, including 6 individual medals. He has also competed at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The friendly face as you enter the shop, Luke has a real knowledge of the local cycle industry. Luke raced bikes both in the Isle of Man, and later in Guernsey although nowadays is more likely to be seen cycling his bike for fitness. Ask him about cycle racing of any era and he will know the result.
Chris lives and breathes cycling. He is on the board of the Guernsey Velo Club. In his spare time he can be found training and competing on the road bike both locally and in the UK/France.
Sam works at the shop in between racing in France for Équipe cycliste Côtes D’Armor Marie Morin Véranda Rideau. Although race focused Sam enjoys all aspects of cycling including the obligatory coffee stop.
Hannah works at the shop in between her studies. She competes locally and nationally to a high level on the road. Completing her first Natwest International Island Games in Gibraltar in 2019.
Steve joined Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop as a works experience student in 1998. He trained and learnt his cycle mechanic skills at Moullins Cycle Shop. He became the top mechanic at Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop in June 2003.
Steve has competed very successfully at downhill events locally in past years and is also a very accomplished BMX rider.
Cytech-trained mechanic, Dan has been a real asset to the team since joining in 2018. He brings a wealth of cycling knowledge from bike shops in UK where he previously worked.
His love for speed means you will frequently see him on 2 wheels either motorcycling, mountain biking or more recently in lycra on a road bike!
Mr Tech, if there is a technical problem Neil will find a solution as long as you bring your bike in clean!
