Meet the Team

With significant experience across all cycling disciplines, our team is perfectly placed to provide guidance and support for all of your cycling needs.

Ian Brown Managing Director

Ian is the founder and Managing Director of Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop. Ian’s passion for cycling and cycle racing began as a 15-year-old taking part in the Guernsey Velo Club races.

Paul Brehaut Sales Director

Paul (known as Dudley) joined Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop in the summer of 1996. This followed his arrival into the sport of mountain biking just two years earlier. His competitive spirit saw him win his first ever local mountain bike race in November 1995 and become a fierce contender in the local scene. He still competes at the highest level locally.

James Roe Sales Director

James’ dedication and competitive nature has lead him to much success locally, nationally and internationally in Cross Country (XC) mountain biking.  He has competed at the last 5 Natwest Island Games gaining 12 medals in the process, including 6 individual medals.  He has also competed at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Luke Bourgaize Sales Assistant

The friendly face as you enter the shop, Luke has a real knowledge of the local cycle industry.  Luke raced bikes both in the Isle of Man, and later in Guernsey although nowadays is more likely to be seen cycling his bike for fitness.  Ask him about cycle racing of any era and he will know the result.

Chris Earles Sales Assistant

Chris lives and breathes cycling.  In his spare time he can be found training and competing on the road bike or towing his baby son around in his Burley trailer.

Hannah Brehaut Sales Assistant

Hannah works at the shop in between her studies.  She competes locally and nationally to a high level on the road, competing in her first Natwest International Island Games in Gibraltar in 2019.

Steve Brucher Workshop Manager

Steve joined Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop as a works experience student in 1998. He trained and learnt his cycle mechanic skills at Moullins Cycle Shop. He became the top mechanic at Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop in June 2003.

Steve has competed very successfully at downhill events locally in past years and is also a very accomplished BMX rider.

Dan Oughton Technician

Cytech-trained mechanic, Dan has been a real asset to the team since joining in 2018. He brings a wealth of cycling knowledge from bike shops in UK where he previously worked.

His love for speed means you will frequently see him on 2 wheels either motorcycling, mountain biking or more recently in lycra on a road bike!

Neil Ridley Technical Assistant

Mr Tech, if there is a technical problem Neil will find a solution as long as you bring your bike in clean!

Flexible payments, expert fitting & after sales servicing

Payment Options
To make sure all our customers are offered the right bike for the right purpose we are always happy to discuss payment options for all or part of the cost using our local finance options agency Cherry Godfrey.
For each customer who chooses a bicycle from us we ensure that it is appropriate for their stated needs and that it is adjusted to fit them correctly for comfort, safety and for efficiency.
Each and every new bicycle will go through a settling in phase. This is normally within the first three months. During this period we advise all new bicycle owners to keep assessing the bike during and after each ride. If any adjustments are required during this settling in phase then these are performed free of charge by our technical staff.
